Unlock Ministries is an organization
that meets the specific needs of a deserving, influential,
and often ignored group of children in our community. The youth
who participate in programs provided by this organization are
enrolled in the fourth through ninth grades and primarily attend
local Title One Schools. Program participants are carefully
selected with the help of school guidance counselors and teachers,
and are considered to be "at-risk" in addition to consistently exhibiting strong leadership potential among their peers. This is a unique organization providing a specialized set of services to a concentrated target group in an effort to create a culture of "at-promise" youth
in our community.
Programs provided by Unlock Ministries
are designed to provide Biblically-based character and leadership
training while focusing on the creation and growth of mentoring
relationships throughout the process. Programs such as Opportunity
Camp, Transition Junior High Camp, Op Champs, Champions for
Christ (C4C), and Mighty Men are carefully constructed to meet
the specific needs of participants based on their age, economic
status, and social challenges while benefiting youth that currently
exhibit strong leadership qualities in both a positive and
negative manner. In order to effectively minister to, educate,
and provide guidance to this important group of youth and their
families, the organization as a whole has consistently expanded
its services and programs since its creation in 2001.
