All campers should receive a personal visit from the counselors within the next couple of week. They will introduce themselves and answer as many questions you, the parents, may have about camp. Please notify the office, 684-7540, if you son or daughter does not receive their home visit.

Postcards are being sent to 250 applicants letting them know that they are invited to to camp. If you do not receive a post card in the mail, you are place on a waiting list. If any of 250 students  have other commitments for the week of camp and are unable to attend, we will replace them with the students on the waiting list.
Thank you for your understanding.

WELCOME!

Opportunity Camp or Opcamp, the primary program of Unlock Ministries, is provided to 200 4th-6th graders and to 100 7th-8th graders with no cost to the campers. This unique program combines character and leadership instructions with the traditional summer camp experience. Campers enjoy hiking, swimming, sports competitions, arts and crafts. Twice daily, camp directors present curriculum centered on God's Truth as it relates to character.
After each presentation, on counselor leads two campers in a discussion of the material and tis practical application to the campers life circumstances. The evenings are filled with high energy entertainment and are followed by by a campfire devotion allowing time to reflect and worship.

Counselors are local Christian teens, representing several churches and high schools, volunteer hundreds of hours to serve as camp counselors and mentors. Our counselors are chosen based on a challenging application and interview process.. Once selected, counselors must attend a mandatory training retreat, raise $150 of support, and conduct home visits with each of their assigned campers.

For years Opcamp has been invited to use the peaceful, serene, beautiful camp grounds  of Camp Butman. Surprisingly, every year Opcamp is invited to return with our energetic campers. Unlock Ministries appreciates Camp Butman's generosities,  hospitality and unconditional love for campers, counselors and staff.
