Elementary Campers

Camp was a lot of fun for the 170 campers that actually went to camp. It rain Sunday night and Monday morning, but after that, the weather was great. The games were fun. The entertainment was a hit every night. And the campers learned about respecting, God, Authority, Parents, Senior Citizens, People, Themselves and Property.
Next, we will meet in August for our monthly meetings for food, fun reminder of what camp was all about. Elementary campers and their parents are invited, even the campers that missed camp are welcome. A post card will be sent, a week before the meeting, with the time and place.

Letters were sent to the 250 campers explaining Time, Place and instruction of camp departure. Check your mail box because you should receive it by Monday, June 23rd.

Postcards are being sent to 250 applicants letting them know that they are invited to to camp. If you do not receive a post card in the mail, you are place on a waiting list. If any of 250 students have other commitments for the week of camp and are unable to attend, we will replace them with the students on the waiting list.

Both camps, Elementary and Transition, were huge hits for all participants. Next our after school program will begin in September. One day each month during the second week of the month for all campers that participated in Opportunity Camp.

Parents, the purpose of this website is to communicate with all participants of Opcamp. This year you will find a daily camp blog from Jack Gillett. intern, of the events at camp as they unfold.

All campers should receive a personal visit from the counselors within the next couple of week. They will introduce themselves and answer as many questions you, the parents, may have about camp. Please notify the office, 684-7540, if you son or daughter does not receive their home visit.

May 10th was the End of School Year Party and it was a Blast!!! We had free kites, food and we gave away a Wii and a iPod Nano. Congratulations to Serina Martinez, enjoying the Wii, & Angel Saenz, enjoying the nano.

Junior High Campers

Camp was a great amount of fun! All participants enjoy all the activities, weather and the people. We need to keep in touch between the campers and the counselors throughout the year so that we can encourage each other to make good choices.

Here are the forms (folder to the right) that were mailed to all the jr. high
campers. They are: Date, Place & Time of departure; Camp Butman release
form and the ropes course release form. Please complete and return
with you Sunday when your son or daughter checks in.

Preparation are finalized for Transition Camp July 20th. Letters will be mailed to you with information regarding what to take, where to be and time of departure.

THE 2008 CAMP applications are available for download. Clink on the large button below, download application, complete and mail back before May 30th. This camp is for previous Opcampers as a reward for their participation in the elementary program. We apologize, but this camp is not open for new Jr. High students.
Application submission deadline has been extended. Please submit your application ASAP!!
